I am not sure where you read that the patch would be released this week, the post I read had a big *IF* (no problems are found) on it. This is completely normal, I don't know why people get so anxious over this.
What exactly would accomplish getting Ilya to post some "decent explanations"? Surely it would not speed up the game engine patch, and considering they will be using said engine for their next release aswell, it is to be expected that they will either fix it or find a compromise solution. As for when this will happen... I don't think they have a crystal ball
