Seeing as your new to this you might want to try one of the big mod pack. You can find info on the big mod packs here;

Look for the "
Newbie Guide" under the "Activators & Packs Downloads" subsections (Ultra Pack, Dark Blue World, HSFX) and that will give you general info on the Mod Pack as well as pros & cons of using that Mod Pack.
