Thats what I thought as well, but I have never altered my joystick axis settings. I also have the Steam cloud sync disabled.

E.g. some fly with .50 sensitivity in Y axis to improve shooting.

I have no idea how this works but it should not sync for me for I have that function switched off. I understand that after deleting the file, the default one from the fresh installation will load from steam (or it will be created by the game, I don't know). This contains all the default settings, e.g. Voice is back on, default HUD and default joystick settings. What puzzles me is how come that it does not stay that way? It will just go back to 'normal' the next session. But the voice remain ON. The sensitivity settings remain unchanged. I never touched them in the first place. I believe that with steam cloud sync off you don't use your files stored at steam server at all. And even if so, when I never altered them, why would they be different to the new default ones? It does not make sense. Also, if the joystick comes back to normal, say it is really different on my steam thingy - why is voice still ON (I had it switched off before) and why it doesn't bring the alternated HUD back (I have moved the chat window). This remains on default even after the new joystick characreristics is long gone.

I have been sceptical, but after trying this with David I can confirm the plane behaves differently and you can certainly get much better control. Just try it on Repka4 as we did. It is very strange indeed and it just works. My joystick is MS FF2 and in Win7 I have no means adjusting anything, it's just plug and play. I never fiddled with sonsitivity settings. Yet flying the same plane with this thing done, I can turn tighter and have better control of stalls etc.
Tried with few other people and they confirmed different behaviour. It is not any sort of placebo effect, the difference is quite obvious.
