I got IL-2 COD the day of its release but decided to wait until I got a rig able to run it in all its glory before I started playing actively. I got back into it a week ago and I'm currently playing the British SP campaign but I have few questions. I'm sure they have all been asked before but I'm unable to find answers using the forum search engine. So, feel free to bash me but in doing so please give some links to any threads where I can proceed.

AI.1: The leader (Luton Leader) hardly ever bank his plane outside furballs. Instead he just slips around using rudder mainly and this makes it very difficult to follow him. Looking at his rudder doesn't really give much of a hint on how hard to bank in order to stay in the turn and in formation. Is this a bug? I noticed it in the first version and its still the same so perhaps it is supposed to be like that but I doubt it.

AI.2: I find it hard to keep up with my AI comrades in a climb. Is my engine weaker than theirs ;O) or is it just me that needs to learn to find the best climb configuration (yes, I'm using CEM)? Any tips on hwo to achieve best climb speed would be appreciated (Hurricane and Spit).

UI.1 The "subtitles" at the top of screen are far too big and gets in the way in knife fights. I know I saw a thread somewhere with a small tutorial on how to tailor the UI (including the text) but I can no longer find it. I would appreciate if anyone can point me in the right direction.

UI.2 The in-game map seems to be missing railroads. Is this intentional/historically accurate or is there some other reason for it? I like giving myself a hard time and navigates this beutiful world using my eyes, instruments and the map (without icons) but not having railroads takes some of the fun out of it.

Oh, and before I hang up. As I feel confident enough to go online, do you have any recommendations on how to proceed? Servers, virtual squadrons and so on ...
