Are your brother and you in a LAN? Or are you at different places in NZ and use Internet access?
This changes much about how you can fly with him...
In case you are in a LAN you (the host) must tell your friend your (private) IP within the LAN, and he must input this address in the multiplayer window (Multiplay->Connect to server IIRC).
In case you are at separate places and want to play via Internet, the easiest way is downloading Hyperlobby (
http://hyperfighter.sk ) and set up a mission with a password (so that no one else can join the game besides you and your brother)
