Freezing and stutters are usually indicative of not enough VRam for your video settings (PC has to load/swop data with video card).
Try turning down a few graphics features, optimising to what suites your video card.

If you're overclocking you might be overheating your CPU and/or GPU (slowing down) - make sure your components are dust free - Errrr!!! clean your PC
