Alternatively, there is the
mega-patch that patches the stock 1946 v4.07 to v4.101m in one go. However, the download is nearly 1GB in size, so you'll need to use WinRar or other archiving application. Windows' WinZip archiving can't handle files that large. Obviously, you'll need a fairly fast and reliable internet connection as well.
Your timing is good. A new patch (v4.11) with a lot of significant improvements, particularly to the AI, is due to be released very soon.
