Thats correct ... I have 2 x GTX 570's that can be used in single screen SLI or surround ... I never got round to buying two extra LCD's because I'm still not sure if its the right thing for me!
I'm still not sure if my current LCD monitor is either?
My main Flight sim monitor just now is a Hanns G 27.5 LCD, its not as good as some of the newer Dell's out there, but its great bang for buck ... I was planning three of these for my two GTX 570's, but lots of research tells me that even with 1.3 VRAM per card I'd be pushing it <--- correct me if I'm wrong on this? This would be three times 1920 x 1200 = 5760 x 1200 ? Thats a heck of a resolution to be dealing with ... apparently dual Nvidea cards dont give dual vram in this scenario ... again, correct me if I'm wrong please.
What I do like about this Hanns G LCD is its
old school, its 1920 x 1200 compared to a normal 1920 x 1080 ... I own a 1920 x 1080 LCD too and the 1920 x 1200 seems to give more in a flight sim, it looks much better and the extra hight is appreciated here ... I've seen this argued to death, but for me at least its better ... trouble is, nearly all company's now are going to 1920 x 1080, not because its a better gaming resolution, but because its the standard the
Movie industry have adopted.
I'm now thinking of selling these cards, maybe getting a GTX580 3GB vram version and a Dell 30" for my ratio while they still make them and offer great warranty on them.
PS: I tried my newish Toshiba 32" bedroom LCD TV (that is a nice bit of kit) 1920 x 1080 60 HZt with HDMI, it looks not too bad in a flight sim, but awful in normal Windows 7 use IMHO ... I know other folks mileage differs.
I need an LCD/LED that looks good in sims and normal windows use.
