its got to be either your card or your processor speed.
Ive got a very similar setup: P8P67/i7 2600K @ 4.4ghz/GTX 580SC/8 gigs ram.
For me, the game is fluid, beautiful, and nothing short of stunning. Average frame rates flying online are 55+ with vsync on.
