There are two little dials behind the control column in the Spit that will raise the lights and are analog. I turn em up to 60% or so and the dash looks just fine if the lighting makes it hard to see.
Not sure if there's an equivalent option in the 109 or 110.

There is in 109 too, but that is not a solution, in fact its a "problem". I don´t think in day light turning on that bulb light were seen at all in reality. Try to turn on your inside car light at midday and you will see.
