Its not really that much of a mind blower, the classic Sci-fi theme of man v technology has been done soo many times in the last fifty years. All art is a reinterpretation of what has gone before be it fine art, music, film or choreography.
Perceptual art is possibly the only truely original art form but it's pretensious "look at me, nobody has bothered to cut a horse in half longitudinally" attitude just pisses most ordinary folk off. The real genius of the Matrix was humanity being saved by a man played by a robot, you'd get more emotion out of a kettle than you would from ole Keanu. Loved the wirework though
