What graphics card and driver version do you use?
Tray tools are pretty much irrelevant with the new versions of catalyst. The older ones don't work with 5xxx and newer cards either. Latest is found here -

Radeon pro offers a lot of tweaking options and some understanding of them or you'll get into trouble.
With CCC you can easily make profiles, but there is a bug to saving them.
Use advanced view to change all settings as you want them.
Switch to standard view
Navigate to start page (green button on top)
Make a new profile
All settings will be saved and you can make a hotkey for it too. Unfortunately you have to make new profiles when you want to save changes, you can't edit existing ones. Pretty annoying, but set and forget right?
