It is a well known fact by now that, no matter what hardware you are running on, clouds have a massive impact on performance, I do dare say it's the same for everybody.
So while upgrading little by little is generally an advisable thing optimisation of cetain things in flight is still needed and the devs, I am sure, are aware of it and working on it.
