U2RATTLEHUM, It was in Madrid, Spain. In Cuatro Vientos airfield. Every first Sunday of every month (except January and August) there is exhibition. Far from California I'm afraid

FundaciĆ³n Infante de Orleans has more than 30 aircraft, although the public is more attracted to the I-16 Mosca (with the colors of the Spanish Republican ace Jose Maria Bravo, 12 Kills, 11 probable).

In Spain is difficult to find aircraft of World War II (or Spanish Civil War) and less airworthy, although the Spanish Air Force Museum has a good number of war planes.
