yeah, just like the Emil of the video, most were updated during the war, hence the scarcity of early 109s. In the book it's actually interesting to see that when they go through the cleaning process, they found evidences that the plane was in fact an updated frame of an F2 (if memory serves!).
Wonder what happened to that Me109 that was found in India some years ago, that was an early one too.
