Speculation- we will hear from Ilya and have a patch on 7/19
7/19 looks to still be the US release date, with no word otherwise.
I'm thinking the dev team is most likely trying to get a patch ready for that date to fix as much as possible for when the new users connect to Steam for the first time. The devs will not have time to Beta it.
Because of this deadline pressure, we have not heard from the team.
