Good questions, I'd like to know the answers to these as well.
And as far as 800x600 goes, guys that's 20th Century. I mean come on, what's the point of demanding cutting edge graphics from developers if you're going to use the ole-grainy 800x600? I think you really need to get a new monitor/vid card
