I'm still having the same problem with 1946. It used to look around and stay pointin in the same direction, but after playing around with the views it now centres back to the gunsight view...very annoying as I can't seem to look over my shoulder anymore.
FYI it happened when I cycled through the F1-12 buttons, using Shift, Alt, Fn and Ctrl buttons, so you may want to try them (at the risk of screwing up any other views you've set up
