I read somewhere in this forum that the Ubi splash screen produces in ATI-card owners an underclocking of the core of the card. When showing the splash screen, the ATI cards underate their core frequency clock upto only 300 MHz, something called "Video-Mode" or so, and stays there later in the game, instead of growing back to what is said to be "Game Mode", 800-900....MHz. This causes bad performance in the game.
Changing the name of the file from Logo.wmv to another name, the program cannot find it and this underclock does not happen.
This is what I read, I didn't check as I have a Nvidia card (and this seems not to be affected by this issue). May someone confirm it? If it is true it should be fixed ASAP by the devs. I think it is a severe shortcoming for ATi users.
Specially, as it has been stated above, if every time you patch the game the video file gets back to the original name.
