Are they German paratroopers in disguise?

This could be the case as the cow's legs do not move as they walk, so it could be two paratroopers on roller skates.

I think it unlikely that the seaguls are paratroopers but I have noted that they are silent. This must be a bug!

Finaly last night when I loaded the mission on our server the cows, sheep and seagulls disappeared!

Is this because I haven't put COWS=1 in conf.ini?
This is because they are inflatable decoys intended to convince the Germans we do not have food shortages and rationing. It is also an important feasibilty study for 'an army that never was' in the run up to future invasion training. This also includes artillery practice.

In fact all the real cows have been eaten or salted down and the sheep sent to love camps to make the POWs feel at home and therefore less trouble, STDs apart.

The seagulls are stuffed early model UAVs for spying on the enemy. Cameras are inserted into suitable orifices.

The command you are looking for in the conf.ini is DrDoolittle=1 which will also enable you to talk to them.

I have no more time to explain further as I must go and take my medication now.
