Are you using the LAN setting in the MoW menu? If I recall my dad and I couldnt get anywhere using the LAN option, we wound up using multiplayer option. I would assume you both have the same patch versions and stuff. This game is not very hard to get working together. Ive never had much trouble with it past the LAN option not working, mutliplayer always has though.
