I'm sorry but you're wrong.
There was no such thing as "Spitfire MKI"
or rather, all of them were MKI-s.
The letter was added when they fitted new wings with cannons:
Spitfire Mk.Ia: 8x .303 mgs
Spitfire Mk.Ib: 4x .303 mgs and 2x 20mm cannon
Therefore the lettering has NOTHING to do with propellors.
EVERY SINGLE Spitfire MKI was fitted with constant speed propellor between early June and late July.
I'm glad we have an early MkI with the 2 pitch prop but come on, there was none of these during the height of the battle!!!
