As long as it works i'm fine with it. Fine doesn't mean i have to like it, it just means i'm going to tolerate it, because no matter how useful it is i prefer to be able to mod my games and/or rollback a patch if it's causing me problems without having to backup the entire game folder. Generally speaking, i dislike having added layers of complexity that can interfere with my gaming. I don't say everyone should feel the same and that's where the magic word comes in: options. If things are optional and not forced across the board, a lot more people are going to be happy because the end product will work either way.

People are free to have their own opinions and calling them idiots because they dislike steam is like calling someone an idiot for not liking the colour purple: it's a friggin' matter of taste for crying out loud

If they don't like it they won't buy it and guess what, it's their right to do so.
