I know what you mean; held on to my trusty Sony CRT as long as possible, until the image started to get blurry. At least flatscreens are finally good enough to provide similar image quality (the better ones). The widescreen aspect itself is nice but not a revelation - although I'd love to try out one of those 30" screens
