They aren't entitled to do it, and besides, release is less than two months away and I can imagine they are very busy.
But yes, I'm not taking it as a dig, it's purely coincidental that when I logged in expecting the update, i saw a topic about there being no update yet. I can see the hypocrisy, and I have logged in more than 3 times today to see if there's been an update, but that's probably less than 10 minutes of my day.

I quite agree with your sentiment. Dev updates are a privilege and jumping the gun like that or expecting them like you are somehow owed them is very arrogant.
