It keeps getting better and better. Aircarft are as beautiful as ever and the amount of 3d objects in the cities is just staggering!
Oh, nice tracers too, looks like real 3d smoke puffs.

As for the clouds

For visuals from a distance REX might be king, but otherwise not so much. It's a collection of 2d photographic textures, not 3d clouds. That means it's very pretty and good enough for a civilian sim, but the gameplay issues with non-3d clouds would be significant in a combat sim.

That doesn't mean i don't like civilian sims or REX clouds, i do very much.
It's just a problematic system for combat sim gameplay.
The sim must know if you are in the cloud or not, so that the other players or AI can see/not see you.
Not a big deal if you are flying an aircraft in a civilian setting, since it has a different set of challenges. What matters is immersing you in the flying, making you feel the tension of a final approach in low visibility and so on, but it's all about ONE player. All it matters is you having a perception of being in foggy/cloudy conditions, but it doesn't matter if you think you are in a cloud and the other players can see you like you're outside it. You won't "lose" if they can see you when you think they can't in a civilian sim.

In a combat sim however, the same perception for each aircraft must be maintained for ALL players. It must be visible the exact same way for other players and AI as well, which means maybe less pretty but fully 3d clouds. Otherwise you could be diving in a cloud to escape and be thinking that you are safe, but i could be seeing you and shooting you down. Then everyone would be posting here and shouting "Oleg, please fix those stupid non-3d clouds" and we'd be back to square one
