Zorin, I think you're right. BoB2 generates, as far as I can see, the camoflauge scheme seperately (via a text document), and then via a similar method you can choose the different spinner colours, and then the different roundel and underwing patterns by date. I think the same is true for each A/C in the squadron. You can change the various lines in the documents so that all the A/C in a squadron could have the same code letters, or that all the RAF A/C in the game could use the exact same camo schemes. This would lower load-times considerably.
It's a useful system for getting skins which are perfectly accurate, but it does increase load times. Having said this, I've never found that it impacts too much on fps...
