Yes the F4U, F6F and P-47 and some transports used the same engine, after doing some research I found this picture of an early P-47. They changed to a paddle blade prop latter in the war.
Looking at a twin engine bomber and seeing two engines I had tunnel vision and was only thinking "twin engine bomber" ... I must be getting old.
