I’ve been playing the MP for about 3 weeks (about 90 battles). I do generally match your description as a gamer, apart from the fact that MoW is the only RTS I’ve ever wanted to play, esp online.

I normally play with my friends (500 battles each) and I find it very hard to beat them. Why?

1. They know every single unit in the game and know the general nation strategy (they know what to buy and what not to buy; when to play defensively and when to play offensively)
2. They know the maps by heart (they rush to the strategic points and know very well where to position their troops best). It takes them less time so they have more time for harassing my line.
3. They are better with direct control. It is a must to get mastered, esp for throwing nades, for binoculars and firing artillery and tanks.

Perfect strategy is not enough in this game. You need to be good at micro-management. And you need luck, esp with heavy guns. Sometimes they damage and sometimes they miss or do nothing.

Anyway, it is quite an exciting game that encourages you to think and plan a lot.
