my grandads ship had 15 inch guns firing shells weighing a ton,i think the yamato had 18 inch guns.end of an era for battleships but they dont half look impressive

Yeah 18 inch guns on Yamato, biggest guns ever mounted on a ship. The main guns
were so powerful that the anti aircraft turrets adjacent had to be cleared during firing otherwise the shock waves would kill the crew.
