1) I'm pretty sure it refers to the mana of the owner.
2) You're not missing them
The scanner lists everything - whether you've picked it up or not. This is why it's an easy way to detect if anyone cheated by adding items, gold, levels, etc. If it doesn't show up here, it has to be spanwed through cheat codes.
