Nah, you should get the option to "strike" even if you have ammo in the gun. There is a problem with the rifles with a built-in bayonet, they doesn't seem to wotk as they should. I'll look into it and see if I can find a way to fix that, but that depends on which file controls the check for that attack method. I'll let you know what I find.
