I was in 1005 squadron, Once did a night exercise on an abandoned airfield somewhere in wiltshire. A team of US special forces were there. We had to plant some explosives at the base of a radio tower. We waited outside the perimiter for 2 hours till it got dark, crept through the undergrowth all thinking we were being really stealthy and a small bush got up fired a full burst of blanks over our heads and said in an american accent, oops you're all dead. 5 other American soldiers then popped up out of nowhere. It was a very surreal experience. I was on summer camp at RAF lynham at the time and the US special forces were there in their black AC-130 on route to Iraq (1st gulf war)
They were some very serious looking men.
