We all started in arcade, then to realistic and some have moved on strictly Simulator. Now people use Limited fuel and ammo as an advantage when they set up a match time of day, this is a fact. My view on this, is in a tourney its unlimited fuel and ammo and that way crashes are a crash and not to reload your ammo and have to drop a point. Realistic is the mode to choose so combat flaps are the same for everyone based on your individual plane settings, everyone should have a decent set of fighters to choose from by now but flying in low light or low light conditions or evening settings can give certain players an advantage in Sim, based on Monitor settings, thats why it must be realistic and the same map, time and conditions for everyone that enters, All matches. You will not have the time to land, you will be dead before you ever touch ground with the way the game respawns players which is also an issue, it chgs from location to location and can be unfair in Sim, another reason for realistic in the tourney. P-47 has rockets should not be allowed, guns and cannon planes only and no rear gunner planes either. I know if a list is made and a random draw is done w/ realistic settings as I mentioned more people would enter than decline, fix them and I believe I would enter but until the rules are neat and clean and the same for everyone I'm going to wait for a change..But I will if you update them and correct issues with multiple variables.
Best Regards
I disagree with most of that. Unlimited ammo requires no aiming skill, just bullet spamming. Unlimited ammo also completly takes out the posibility of a pilot underfire jinking and forcing his pursuer to run out. The rule about landing then bailing out not counting as a crash is quite clever as it then becomes very posible if both planes need to land at the same time.

Now about having it on realistic. I doubt realistic would create more players now alot of people have moved more to sim. I can't be certain but I think there are actually more people playing sim than realistic, its definatly the case when i'm online. I, and others have stated here that they would only fly on sim. Nobody has said that about realistic, so I think the oposite if what you said is true. Not having flaps in realistic also makes some of the planes far more difficult to fly agressively. Using your flaps is a skill, not an unfair advantage. Spotting your enemy in sim is also a skill that is non existant in realistic, even a monkey can follow a pointing arrow. Yes some people may have a small advantage with big HD screen, but then ,when I play cricket, lots of people on the other team have a better bat than me, but how foolish would I look if I complained and asked them to use one as bad as mine instead?

Now I do agree that the rules are not clear enough in some areas. Rockets shouldn't be allowed (but how often do you see them in dogfights anyway), No bombers or jets/Me163 but all other planes allowed (Bf110 having a rear gun is fine with me, does very little damage anyway.) About the maps and time of day, I think a map and time of day should be set in the rules just so to take the posiblity of disagreement between the two players away.
