Like it or no, BoP was never designed as a full & immersive experience on the ground (or in the air IMO). Like every other arcade title, it wants you in the air, seconds away from the fight & once the last adversary is downed, it wants you 'back' out of there. No bad thing to some & I guess it's in keeping with the whole console experience.
With my point, I was talking about the whole IL-2 experience, not just the mission editor but even that (the full mission builder I take it you mean) has no less than 75 theatre maps, (that's before 4.09); each theatre having it's own list of airfields with some theatres having as many as 12 - 20 airfields. And this isn't even counting the masses of modded theatre maps of which there are now some fantastic BoB maps & even BoB campaigns written for them. You can find these B0B maps here, along with thousands of other files & addons. http://allaircraftarcade.com/forum/index.php

Just trying to help.
Actually I've had that website bookmarked for about a year now.

I won't disagree that 1946 is much more realistic (and immersive in some ways but not others) and altogether a much better flight sim the BoP.

All I'm saying is that IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 (unmodded) doesn't really have 'hundreds' of airfields... Maybe 'tens' would have fit better.
