Weird.... you have a good system and the GTS 240 is just a hair off the GTS 250 (which I have) in performance from what I can tell. It's a budget video card based on the old excellent 8800/9800 line. Should be fine...
Can you run the Blackdeath track and record the FPS (low, average, high) at the end of the track.
Does turning VSYNC on or off in the drivers make any difference?
