One quick question,
1 AAA blast effects
Dear Oleg, in the final version of SoW, will the blast from heavy AA guns have an effect on flight? I thinking about shaking of the planes during bomb runs from barrage, and being pushed a bit aside from blast of the near-exploding AA shell, and also if such effects can be combined with flight model - ie. fighter in a turn suddenly stalling and spinning from the blast from an AA shell disrupting airflow over the wings etc.
It would be a great detail IMHO, especially for bomber missions.
2 Night bombing
Second question, the Luftwaffe used electronic blind bombing equipment during the Battle of Britain for night bombing missions (Knickebein, X and Y Gereat). Will the operation of these simulated, and can blind bombing be made relying on these instruments? The implementation of this would also serve as good basis for later additions to the SoW franchise (ie. use of similiar devices by RAF Bomber Command). Will there be night missions where some bombers marked the target with coloured flares, to serve as aiming point for the rest of the bombers?
3 Cocpit Instrument damage
Will this effect of trashed instruments, gun sight etc. random (ie random instruments get damaged), on/off (ie. if damage done to cocpit, suddenly everything getting broken) or simulated (ie. if bullet goes through exact location of say, speed instrument, then the speed gets damaged, the others remain intact, and if bullet hits elsewhere, something else gets damaged, depending on bullet path)?
4 Aircraft special 'abilties' (for the lack of proper words)
On Bf 110 cocpit shot, there's a switch that permits the pilot to select fire mode for MGs (2 MGs firing or all 4 MGs firing). Several other aircraft may have similiar operation options that are specific to that aircraft only. Question is, will it be possible to use such aircraft specific features? It seems to be a good idea to map generic buttons for such special 'abilities' for each aircraft, ie. Special Button 1, Special Button 2 etc., which would activate different function on aircraft upon hitting - for example, glare shield on German Revi sight, boost 'tit' on British fighters. For example on Bf 110 shot (also present on some other German fighters) there is button for Durchladen, ie. clearing the chamber of jammed gun and un-jam the gun during flight.
5, Several aircraft, usually larger had seperate fuel tanks, or drop tanks, which could be selected during flight to use as fuel source, ie. wheter to use fuel from rear fuel tank, or for example use fuel from the drop tank. Il2 as far as I know modelled only one single fuel tank, regardless of the actual number of tanks installed. How it will be in SoW? Will seperate fuel tanks modelled, each with own damage model (ie. not all fuel is lost when only one tank is hit), will it be possible to select fuel tanks, or pump fuel from one damaged tank to an undamaged one (if possible on that aircraft IRL)?
