Also not only does the 1-point penalty not make up for an opponent crashing before you get credit for the kill, they also didn't really fix the crediting system. It's improved, but there's still a lot of "player has crashed" messages to piss you off.

Basically, if a plane crashes with black damage, or a lot of red damage, it's pretty sure to be a kill for somebody. A little pink damage, and no kill. Which means Spitfires are still hard to get credit for killing (in sim at least) when you hit their wing and their pilot spins out.

Some things that are fixed (in sim):

Even with unlimited ammo, guns overheat. No more hailstorms of bullets everywhere.

flaps get damaged if you fly too fast or lower them without remaining level.

Opponents are visible from farther away, without the need for zoom camera

with the red/blackouts, planes can no longer turn 10-second sustained turns. More like 15 seconds now, and it makes the opponent hard to keep track of if you do it. Less ridiculous.

Landing works for most planes - there's no auto brakes, but pushing the tail into the ground works.

Flak works! You'll find singleplayer a lot harder, because those nice easy to spot targets with the big circles around them actually shoot you down now. So does the gunfire from the ships.

Some things that aren't fixed:

Spits still tip over when they land. Though they deserve it, I hate Spits.

Flaps still get stuck if you die on the ground with flaps down.

Strike mode still awards stars for killing planes, but not for damaging ground targets like you're supposed to.

The crash-on-spawn glitch is still as bad as ever, especially in games with 8 or more players.

In dogfight, crashing should be a 3 point deduction. Actually it should be a 5-point deduction and cause 5 points to be awarded to the player that inflicted the most damage, if any
