If there are ammo counters would be useful to know their locations for the various cockpits available but checking the above link suggests no counter!

only ww2 fighters that I have noticed that have ammo counters on il2 1946 are the bf 109 and fw 190
** What I would recommend you to do is to choose a desired plane and test it in training, press the trigger and record the seconds until you run out of ammo, then you will know about how much ammo you have left. I normally fire short 1 second bursts, so if Im using the Yak-3 and I know that I have 30 seconds of ammo, then I can keep track of this by counting the bursts (I actually do this lol, and have all planes tested
) it works quite well.
