I think it is probably normal. When anything new comes out, people are going to be talking about it, playing allot etc. But, as they progress and enjoy the game for awhile, it becomes not such a big deal.. Not that they do not like the game anymore, or don't play it anymore, but the buzz dies out, and it becomes just another game in their library. That would have to be expected. New games come out, and they move on to share time with the new game releases. Any developer, or publisher that don't expect that, is just living in a dreamworld... Maybe the patch will lite fires again, but it will drop again soon after that "new" had worn off. Buy a new car that you love, and before you know it, it just becomes transportation to and from work.. Human nature.

Developers do the same thing. They are pumped about their product, and soon after it releases, and they publish a patch or two, then it just becomes another project on their resume. They quickly move onto other projects...

I still play it allot. When I first got it, I was spending hours at a time with the controller in my hand. But, now, I play a match, take a break, and I may, or may not get back on and play another... I went from playing many hours a day, to maybe an hour a day.. Still love the game, and it is my favorite one at present.. But, just human nature..

Point is, this shouldn't be a shocker to anyone, especially the development teams, and publishers..
