chaos in CTA

Just finished (quit) a game I hosted. 14 players in Sicily-Catania. It started fine, I took down an enemy trying to land, a few people crashed. Then something wierd happened, the other team were spawning and crashing into eachother immediately every second or 2. The game then started giving me kills I hadnt got, basically the crashes counted as a kill to me, I had to quit the game, it awarded me over 100 points when really I only should have had 25. Apologies to anyone affected by that I know it must have been hugely frustrating.

This happened to anyone else? I'm using the PS3

the spawn crashing has happend to me too many times, (in strike and CTA).
really hope they will fix it.
so yeah...it happens to more people ;), it is prob because you spawn too close to each other in those 2 game modes

No it appears to happen when the game is laggy. It's happened to me a lot as well. I've even switched to external camera and watched it happen - your wing just comes off. No one around to hit you or anything. I've even had my wing come off and started falling out of the sky before the screen has faded up from black. In fact the last game I just had where it happened (CTA again, about 10 minutes ago) one wing came off, then the other, then my tail...

It's like the system just gets a network event stuck in it's throat, or starts to feedback on itself with all the debris. If you have the patience, you can just ride it out - eventually the lagger will get disconnected and you can carry on with the game. Sometimes just not respawning as soon as the timer runs out can get you out of the loop too.

Hahah... I think i was in that game... It started with a stupid amount of warping and lag, then suddenly over the airfield everyone except me and a couple of others spontaneously combusted and Intifadah got 10 kills or something.... I looked at the scoreboard and thought "bollocks to this" and quit.
I have to admit, I thought your were cheating or something.... apologies for that assumption!

This has happened to me as well while hosting a game, and I caught a lot of flak over it. Scathing messages about being a quitter and lagger ensued as well, so yeah...I know the feeling.

Suprisingly ive only played 2 games of CTA since release. but i have experienced these problems on Strike, although not on a regular basis.

happened on xbl too

very busy (13+) tdm and all of a sudden my team starts exploding....lots

I'm surprised people actually thought you could pull this kind of subterfuge...

I just quit and found a quieter game...I've not seen it happen 12 or less

I say felch to the sh!t-talkers:grin:
