Landing (help?)

I have an Ace Edge stick. First question: Is there a brake button?

I always overshoot the runway. Even if I find a huge piece of flat land, like a big farm or something, I often overshoot. Or, what happens more often, is I will be going along, start to gradually slow down, then my tail hits something random and I nose-dive, boom, crash landing.

Is there something that I'm not getting or is it just really finicky?

It's a shame because in multiplayer, especially for Capture Airfields, you need to land effectively.

Also, a side question, since I haven't been successful in landing in multiplayer, does it patch up your aircraft and replenish your ammo like in the PC games? I ask because I was in a limited ammo game and I thought is was a little weird that you had to essentially bail out after you ran out of bullets, and then it naturally counts as a crash.

I had fun though. It's all fun.

Brakes do not work with the flightsticks for some reason, so everyone is waiting for a patch that will hopefully come sometime soon. That is of coarse if you are playing on a console.
