Problem with Strike?
 

Anybody else having trouble destroying targets in Strike? I know those concrete bunkers are supposed to be more difficult to take out, but i think i've yet to destroy a single one yet. and i just spent a good five minutes trying to bomb the same bunker back to the stone age. i know they were good hits, right on the money, and yet after every pass, the bunker remains standing, mocking me. lol

Also, is it just the games im joining or is there no way to make a purely Allies Vs. Axis game? Seems like both teams can pick whatever aircraft they please, which is very disappointing.

Theres something fishy with strike right enough. I did the same thing with a He111 and I bombed the crap out of the enemy base for several minutes and not one of the targets was destroyed. Every bomb I dropped for a good 5 mins was bang on target and at the end of the round I had only 1 star for a score.

And in one game I played I was bombing a target with a hurricane when the bomb targeter decided to vanish. None of the targets around me would show it the marker at all. I had been bombing the same target repeatedly, and the marker just vanished even though the targets around me were still selectable. I ended up crashing and checking other targets and it was back again.

Aye, can report same issues here - bombed and rocketed a plane to blazes, and it was burning like no tomorrow, but no damage was registered. Had similar issues with bunkers (on bunker I dropped 12+ bombs on and it was still standing).

Each hit takes tickets off the enemy. you can destroy them but it takes afew hits.

it is purpously made this way so the games can last longer instead of blowing them up straight away.

As for the bomb sight dissapearing, i have experienced that also, but its not a reggular occurance.

Hey Spitfire, I've had quite a few times when I've scored a clear hit (even had the deck of the boat burning) and there was no change to the tickets on either team, and even more times when I'm fairly sure I've scored a hit but there's been no change (but only raise the question marks over the ones I'm sure about, my aim isn't perfect ;)). There are definitely fairly common cases of direct hits with bombs and no changes to tickets.

The bombsight in th e JU is only visable at 90 degrees

I unlocked the big 132 rockets for IL-2 and some of the unlocks for the IL-2 is to destroy ground targets, which is impossible because the plane is crap. No more powerfull than a spud gun.:confused:

The only thing it is good for is on the CTA games, i'm not sure if someone who is landed counts for a ground target? Should do. I've definately killed more than 5 landed people with an IL-2 and not unlocked anything.

Doe's it matter how you bomb? How high? Dive bombing?

its visible in level flight for me. disappears if you're locked on to a plane and not a ground target though.

Yes it suppose to be visible in a 90 degree dive and not visible in level flight it's just for bombing.
