Flying to France???

So, on the Dover mission, I chased some HE's over the channel quite a ways (and damaged my plane quite a bit in the process). On my turn back I noticed something on my map. Pas de Calias is clearly visible on the map, and you might be able to fly to it. My plane was too badly damaged to make the go and but if you head South x South-East you have a good chance of making it. I am going to give it a go next time I play Dover, but that peaked my interest. Has anyone made the attempt already??

Yes and it says "return to battlefield" and then forces you back over the water.

You are able to fly over some of it before it says, "Return To Battlefield" like Trk29 said. It doesn't have any trees though. Good for practice emergancy landings.

Yeah and if you fly low to the water it looks like you can go under the land, but you cannot you will hit a invisible wall.
