US Available flight sticks

American X360;

I've seen an awful lot of talk around here about possible sticks for this game. I have an AV8R-2, so I know that works (it obviously was designed exclusively for the x360). It's pretty good, and I'd be willing to say that I have a long way to go as a pilot before I really start blaming my stick. I'll try that ziptie mod for sure. It's a touch stiff, and learning takes time.

As of right now, is there any other american stick system that will work for the X360, or are we just speculating on what might come?

As far as being able to just pick up a flight stick in the store, the AV8R-2 is the only one.

There is also the Ace Edge, which was in a limited bundle with Ace Combat 6, is most likely only going to be found at places like ebay at inflated prices.

I have the Aviator 2 & have it working fine for me (after a lot of soldering, drilling &, research). There is an ace edge on ebay right now for $89.99, probaby the cheapest you're gonna find one.

If you want to mod your AV8TR so the buttons are within reach I have posted a link to an MS word file that takes you step by step here.

Although you seem to have done this correctly, don't you think there might just be an option in the full release to map your buttons? I'd hate to F up my stick just for the demo.

If they give you the option to map the buttons it will work just as well. I have only relocated the buttons from the front to within reach. They will still be mapable (if that is available) i the full build. EIther way I find it better to be able to reach them, no matter what thier function.

If you want you can cut the button wires in the center, strip them and twist together (like I did with the ground) then run a wire from the button to that exposed wire. This will keep both the front (original) buttons & the new ones functioning.

It's already been said that the full release will not have mappable controls.

The ability to do so could possibly come in an update, but it would probably be a while, and there is certainly no guarantee that it would even happen.
