Family World War 2 Veterans?

Not sure if anyone's made something like this, so if there's already something like it go ahead and close it. Anyway, this is a place to post who in your family (If any) had served in WW2.

I'll go first.

My Grandfather on my mothers side, was an Italian pilot who fought over Malta, and even got shot down twice. Gradually ended up on the Allied side because he became so disillusioned with what Mussolini was saying etc.

Then on my Fathers side of the family, my Grandfather flew American GI's home who were returning from the Pacific theater, and his brother was a Marine who fought and died on Sipan during the fighting climax, of battle.
---------------------------------

So there's my quick little list. What about yours?

My gramps was RAF mechanic for big Lancs with Bomber Command in England. He was French-Canadian, though his love of beer surely made the transition okay.

My great-uncle on the other hand was with the Royal Canadian Hussars an armoured regiment - though i'm pretty sure his only war wound was falling out of some frenchwoman's window. A character!

My Grandpa was a ParaTrooper with i believe the 507 Airborne (i could be wrong, i rememebr him saying 507 and he was a paratrooper) I do know he was the first out of his plane and then it was directly hit by flak and he didnt see anyone else get out. He always had the attitude of "Ill go first to get it done" He also was in the Battle of the Bulge.
