Radeon 9600 crash

I have just bought KB, and upgraded my old PC with a Radeon 9600 graphics card. The drivers for the card are the latest (march ´09).

The game version is 1.7

Install etc. works perfectly, but when I start the game I just get to see the "game screen" before the game causes my PC to reboot.

I use Windows XP Home edition.

When I search the forums I only find one similar problem, and that is from december ´08, and there were no solution.

Surely someone has solved the problem by now?

Upgraded? Radeon 9600 ( or you maybe mean geforce?) is very old card ... not sure if it can handle KB

My computer is 5 years old, so believe me, it was an upgrade!

I first tried with the "HD" generation, but that was not compatible with the rest of the system, so the Radeon 9600 was the best available card.

The main purpose was to run HOMM V smoothly, which my PC now does, but I was told it was also possible to play KB, allthough at minimum settings?

Your card doesn't support shaders 2.0 and this feature is essential to run KB. Unfortunately you won't be able to play King's Bounty. You may try to use 3D Analizer program (you can find the link in this forum in some old thread), but even with it, I don't think you will launch the game.
