GEM Editor Boundries question

Can someone explain to me what the CYAN and MAGENTA boundaries are for?

The YELLOW appears to be max distance that your units can go...

The GREEN appears to be the max distance that you can see...

The area between the YELLOW and GREEN will be your fogged out zone...

If you have a correct description of the YELLOW and GREEN boundaries, please tell :)
