Mid-air collisions

Hi all,

Firstly, i've never played IL-2 on PC.

I'm just wondering, what's the damage modelling like for mid-air collisions etc?

I would imagine this would be fairly hard to programme for, given that the primary damage modelling must be for weapon damage.

If i'm flying a P-51 could i slice up another planes tail by flying too close etc?

If it is anything like the old one, I would think that damage model will still work, because in the old one you could destroy your planes in many ways such as crash landings, pulling too many G's (so take your time when you pull out of steep dives):), shot down, etc.

I have cut tails off with the props and am able to keep going, but I prefered to "gear kill" the wings.;)

Yeah, but they collide at the engine resulting in instant explosion.

But yes, this clip first came to mind when I read this question.
