Growth of for-hire creatures

Hi,

I wonder whether the read-to-be-hired troops grow over the game.

For exampe, in the original castle I didn't notice the bowmen and swordsmen grow at all.
There is a knight tent in the same (first) region with some horsemen and knights. I wonder whether their number increases over time, too?
And by what formula if anyone happens to know?

If I hire out all troops of a certain type do they ever grow back?

Thanks.

Nope, as far as I know the majority of creatures offered in the game come in a limited supply. Exceptions are creatures in King Mark's castle (later on, at least) and maybe some other places as well, but not many.

Not only the castle, when you get promotions (like baron, earl, etc.) or on certain quest/event completions you usually get new troops in related castles or hiring locations.

Most castles re-supply if you do specific quest for them - dwarven king : after you free his son, Elven princess, after you defeat Korador, The castle where the magic academy is : 1. after first barbarian peace sign, 2. after second barbarian pease sign (I choose fight instead second peace sign :) )

Hey, fighting the barbarian is the only way to complete the quest, you know. :)

Back to the question. When the creatures number turns into "Horde", the supply becomes unlimited. Of course, you need to work towards that like the others say.

Generally, with the exception of those few creature dwellings/castles that offer unlimited # of a creature type after many quests, the only way to guarantee a supply of a rare creature is to save a few in garrison somewhere for emergencies and make liberal use of Sacrifice (on hypnotized enemies preferably, or on those other creatures that are unlimited, but the latter option is quite expensive...).

to clarify; if the number of troops isn't "horde", they are limited in number and do not regenerate
